Here to Stay is a very good mix of romance and suspense. Keeps you reading until the very end and then wanting to know more. I would recommend this book for anyone who wants a good read.
I read the book over the weekend and you definitely don't want to put it down. She builds up the characters so you think you know what to expect. There is suspence the whole way through. The ending is not what you would expect. She does a very good job of keeping you reading.
Julia Sullivan needed an escape. After leaving her husband, Patrick, she fled to Haven, New Jersey, where her late aunt left Julia her house with an ocean view. Just as Julia starts cleaning out her aunt's house, Patrick comes back to win her back. Even at the sight of him, Julia knows she still loves him but she wants a husband who puts his wife first -- not his job.
jenyferWhile she's dealing with her feeling for Patrick and trying to duck his intentions of winning her back, Julia starts to believe that her aunt's death might not have been an accident. A few mishaps at the house strengthen Julia's suspicions and give Patrick more reasons to stay.
Jenyfer Matthews did a nice job of weaving the mystery of the house and the aunt's death with attraction between Julia and Patrick, who share a nice chemistry. Julia would love to believe Patrick's promises to change but has doubts. And Patrick is determined to not lose the love of his life and protect Julia from the mysterious happening surrounding the house.
The plotline about Julie and Patrick were realistic ... Julia had a good reason for leaving her marriage while Patrick realized the errors of his ways and was committed to making their relationship work a second time around. The mystery surrounding the house and Julia's aunt was simple but intriguing.
The book is easy to read and has heart. It has you rooting for the two characters who can be stubborn but clearly belong together.
